Places to Visit
Adelaide is the only state in Australia that was settled by free-settlers, and not through penal colonisation. It has many places of interest, and the following are just a few the city has to offer.
Along the North Terrace, there are museums and galleries within easy walking distance from each other -
The South Australian Museum, North Terrace
Migration Museum - Kintore Street (off North Terrace)
Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace
Also along the North Terrace, is Adelaide's Botanic Gardens, with its different pavilion's, and individual gardens.
By taking Adelaide's only tram, you can visit Glenelg Beach, which is known as the city's beachside resort, with its seaside cafe's, parks and shops.
Just outside Adelaide is the Mt. Lofty Botanic Gardens, on the eastern slopes of the Mt. Lofty Ranges. The scenic views over the city, particularly at night-time, are well worth driving up to the summit to experience.
