Places to Visit
Brisbane is a great city with an exciting mix of the new and the old. There is a growing sky scraper feel with new offices springing up opposite Southbank, and behind, Brisbane's Botanic Garden stretches along the city’s riverside, providing a place to cool off when it starts to heat up. The following are just a few of Brisbane's places of interest you may want to visit.
The Museum of Brisbane (MoB), located in the city centre, is on the ground floor of Brisbane’s City Hall and is an interesting place to visit.
Southbank, situated along the Brisbane River, has regular events, cafes and restaurants, as well as a man-made beach.
Roma Street Parkland, a short walk from Queen Street Mall, is the world's largest sub-tropical garden within a city – and given Queensland’s climate, its not especially surprising that the flora within its sixteen hectares flourishes, despite the drought conditions the state is currently experiencing.
A short distance from the city, and accessible by public transport, Mt. Coot-tha has its own gardens, places to eat, and great views over the city.
