Regions to Visit in New South Wales
New South Wales has a plethora of beautiful and popular regions both along its coast, and within its low and high countryside. The following are just a few regions worth visiting in this state.
Hunter Valley
The Hunter Valley wine region is approximately two hour’s driving time north of Sydney, and is NSW most well-known wine producing area.
Blue Mountains
You can take a train or coach to Katoomba, the main township in the Blue Mountains, as well as drive, and it takes about an hour from Sydney centre. The scenic views, trolley cars and the Three Sisters are amazing, so long as the weather is good.
South Coast
Along the coast, there are many popular holiday destinations for campers, particularly for people from Victoria. Eden, Pambula and Merimbula are especially popular, and Bateman’s Bay is another key location.
North Coast
This is where the terrain becomes interesting, with the rainforest meeting beach and mountain, and whilst the scenery continually amazes, most travellers head up to Byron Bay for their stay, and to see the surrounding area.
High Country
The Snowy Mountains have long been revered by “The Man From Snowy River”, which prior to being made into a movie, was the title of the poem by Banjo Paterson. There are a lot of outdoor activities in this part of NSW, one of which is skiing.
