Places to Visit
Sydney is a great city to visit in terms of the many sites and places of interest, particularly around Port Jackson, the harbour bay. The following are just a few places worth seeing in this historically modern city.
The Rocks
Situated under the Harbour Bridge, The Rocks is a historical part of Sydney that has shopping, markets, places to eat and have a drink, all within sight of the harbour and the Opera House.
The Opera House
Open for tours and for events, Sydney's Opera House is difficult to miss, and there are pleasant walks either through the Botanical Gardens, or along Circular Quay to reach this iconic building.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge
There probably isn’t a better view of the city than from the circumference of Sydney’s Harbour Bridge, which is a relatively new way to see Sydney and the harbour area.
Bondi Beach
You can reach Bondi Beach by bus, or by train to Bondi Junction. It’s a popular destination for back-packers, with its sea-front cafes and hotels, and the coastal walk from Bondi to Bronte, or vice versa, is well worth doing and taking a bus back!
Darling Harbour
Darling Harbour is easy to get to, whether you want to use your feet, or the metro, and it has events, places to eat and drink, and great views of the harbour area.
Manly
There are regular ferries to and from Manly, which is a lovely beach side town on the other side of the bay.
