Living in Queensland, Brisbane

Queensland is situated in the eastern/north eastern part of Australia, and is known as the “Sunshine State” owing to it two types of weather patterns – sunny with high levels of rainfall (and also humidity) in summer, and sunny with lower levels of rainfall in winter.

Queensland has a population of around four million, however unlike other Australian cities, less than half its population live in and around Brisbane.

In spite of this, Brisbane continues to be a fast growing city, and its sky-line reflects the rapid growth with high rise city buildings and ongoing development along the south and north banks of the Brisbane river.

Brisbane’s public transport system has buses and trains, but it also uses fast-moving catamarans for travelling along Brisbane river, which is a great way to see the city and its nearby suburbs.

Queensland is known for its natural heritage and beauty, such as the Great Barrier Reef, and the coastal towns are very popular not only with overseas travellers, but with Australians further south, such as Victorians, who enjoy spending their winters in warmer climes [Wikipedia: Queensland(Australia)].

This section provides information about accommodation, transport, and health care; that can assist with living in Queensland.
