Accommodation

Accommodation in Australia, like most countries, is cheaper the further you live from a city centre. Owning your own home is part of the great Australian dream, and the building industry acts in many ways as an indicator of the country's economic well-being. This section aims to provide information about the types of accommodation you may be interested in, when moving from another country or interstate.

Renting Accommodation

Queensland's Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) have information regarding being a tenant, and your rights when renting property in Queensland.

To access the RTA website using a language other than English, please click onto RTA Fact Sheets to find the language relevant to you.

Owning your home

If you are a permanent resident or citizen of Australia, the first home-owner grant, and other assistance schemes, may apply to you.  For information regarding the grant in Queensland, the Office of State Revenue website has a section relating to First Home Owners.
