Victoria is situated southeast in Australia, and has a population of around five million people – with three million living in and around Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city.
After Sydney, Melbourne is the second most populated city in Australia. Situated along-side Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne is noted for having two major sports arenas - the tennis centre which hosts the Australian Open, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) which hosts the Australian Football League Grand Final.
Victoria is referred to as the “Garden State” however it has a little bit of everything – from skiing mountains to surf and bay beaches, with a number of wine growing areas and flatter landscapes in between.
In terms of weather, Victoria is temperate in climate – again becoming warmer the further north you travel, but generally reflecting noticeable changes in temperature for each of the four seasons.
